Comparing Roster Space to Closet Space

Comparing Roster Space to Closet Space

Get married, buy a house, start a family. After a few years of marriage, we finally bought a house. As a young husband, this was fantastic; a bigger house meant a larger living room, a more extensive yard, and a bigger bedroom. However, it also brought forth the root of the problem: a larger closet, which I thought would be a 50/50 split. I was so naive to think this closet would be mine.

After we moved, I realized I had even less closet space than I did in the smaller closet in our previous house. Where should I put my Terrell Owens jersey and the rest of my sweet Cowboys merch? As a young married man, I resisted it for a while and eventually learned to manage with less closet space. I believe most married men go through this situation early in their marriage. Eventually, we bought a dresser, and now I store all my clothes there, including those shirts from high school that WILL fit me again someday. I promise I'll never throw those shirts away. Looking at all my old shirts from high school made me think of who I should cut and who I should stash. Should I toss this blue Billabong shirt from 08 or keep it?

Week 1 has come and gone, which means it's time for our first round of waivers. Which players are we going to keep? Which players can go into that sacred IR spot? And which player are we finally going to cut so that two weeks later, they are relevant again, kind of like that Volcom shirt my wife donated to the local shelter.

Below, I'll share my favorite Week 2 Waiver adds and streaming options (all rostered below 67%).
No, this intro was not inspired by my DRI-fit Dallas Cowboys shirt that looked like a tight fit.

Quarterbacks

  1. Tua Tagovailoa, 67% rostered. I know Tyreek Hill had a great game, but he also spread the ball to 7 different wideouts. A tough matchup this week vs. New England, but the Dolphins are a track team, If they can continue to protect Tua this could be wild.

  2. Jordan Love, 38% rostered, tosses three touchdowns as the new Packers starter, and Christian Watson didn’t dress out. I think Love is just scratching the surface. Has a great matchup this week vs. the Falcons.

  3. Jared Goff, 20% rostered, has a good matchup vs. Seattle this week, who just got carved up for 300 passing yards by Kuppless Rams team.

  4. Sam Howell, 2% rostered, took a rushing touchdown to save him this past week. Has a matchup vs. the Broncos. This is more of a stash for me, I need to see more.

  5. Zach Wilson, only if you’re feeling dangerous in a very deep league.

Running Backs

  1. Tyler Allgeier is 46% rostered on a team that loves running the ball. My number 1 waiver add this week. Led the Falcons in rushing attempts and yards. Played 56% of the snaps in week 1.

  2. Kenneth Gainwell, 6% rostered, looks to be the starting running back for the Eagles.

  3. Kyren Williams, 6% rostered, got the goal line work last week vs. Seattle. Tough matchup this week as they host the 49ers.

  4. Justice Hill/Gus Edwards looks like an RBBC to me, Hill got the goal line work last week. It could be a hot-hand approach. Both running backs need to be rostered.

Wider Receivers

  1. Puka Nacua, is this the next Cooper Kupp, or is this like my closet, just a big tease? He had 15 targets and ten receptions. It's a tough matchup this week vs. San Francisco, but it should be one of the most popular waiver candidates this week.

  2. Zay Flowers looked great in week one despite Lamar Jackson's struggles. Nine receptions for 70+ yards. I'm curious to see how he does when Mark Andrews returns.

  3. Zay Jones, did he surpass Christian Kirk as the number 2 in this offense? Trevor Lawrence will spread the ball around, and Zay might be a popular option around the Red Zone.

  4. Romeo Doubs seems like this guy was on this list every week last year. Hopefully, this is the last time I put his name on this list.

Tight Ends

  1. Luke Musgrave, an athletic freak, was a couple of missed throws away by Love from a huge day. Grab him while you can.

  2. Jake Ferguson, I know the guy couldn’t catch a cold in the rain on Sunday night football, but Dak just kept targeting him; the catches will come—a stash for now.

  3. Hunter Henry had a TD Sunday vs. the Eagles. Mac Jones will have to keep airing it out this week if the Patriots want to get into the win column. Donald Parham had a touchdown against the Phins last week.

  4. Donald Parham or Gereld Everett? I am unsure which of these tight ends will get the TD this week vs. the Titans, but I imagine one will. Just like I imagined, my letterman’s jacket will fit me again.
