Speaker 1:You might be onto something there. I wasn't thinking of that. But yeah, we got it's week one. We're going to dive into all these week one matchups. We have starts, we have sits, we have the lines. We're going to do our picks All that good stuff. Phil has not entered in his picks for who won each game. We'll let him do that later, I guess. So you guys want to dive right into this. So this is our kickoff episode. I think we're all excited here. I think I speak for everyone when I say that. So let's jump into this. I guess we got Lions at Chiefs. Feels weird not recapping our week or anything, right, but everybody's already heard us on Monday.
Speaker 3:No one cares about our week. Right now I'm excited, man. Everyone cares about football.
Speaker 1:Okay, fine, that's fine.
Speaker 3:It does feel weird, though I will say we're jumping into Thursday night football.
Speaker 1:Guys. This is kickoff game. We have Lions at Chiefs, the total is 52 points and Kansas City is favored by four and a half points. We have some starts by Seth and we have some starts by Jordan. You want to? We'll go Seth first with the start.
Speaker 4:We're loaded up Thursday night we're too excited for tomorrow's game, yeah.
Speaker 3:This game's going to be fun because I think everyone knows the Chiefs are good. Jordan is a semi-Chiefs fan, I guess you can say, and we're kind of the Lions pod here with Trent Phil and I. Hashtag, one pride. Hashtag, one pride. So I'm going to go with my start. Since it's a one pride pod, I'm going to go as my start is Jameer Gibbs. But so the reading. When I first put this together, I didn't look at the necessary, like the sleeper.
Speaker 4:Coach speak, coach speak.
Speaker 3:Yes, the coach speak doesn't really help. Dan Campbell said I don't know if he's a full workload, but I don't really know what that means, because we've been hearing news saying that, like, not only receivers are vertical threats. So it's making me think, like Gibbs and me lining up in the slot, you might be lining up at wide out like who knows, the possibilities are endless with these things they're saying, but also it could just be coach talk, like Jordan's saying. But if we're playing into the script of, I think the game's going to go. I think the Chiefs are going to be ahead and the Lions are going to be down, and that means Jameer Gibbs is going to be in when the Lions have the ball, because they're going to be throwing the ball a lot. So there's my start, right there Volume alone. Gibbs is going to get there for you. You're going to get what you want at him for him. When you drafted him, so you drafted him pretty high as a running back. I think this week for sure you're going to get the value out of him because he's going to be in on the passing downs and I think he's still going to be in the game because they're down even in the red zone area, unless it's like a for sure, david Montgomery, get the ball on the two yard line. I think Gibbs is going to be in.
Speaker 1:I'm probably, honestly, the snap percentage is going to be high. Well, no, this is the guy I'm most excited to play on. Thursday night football, like Gibbs, is the guy I've been wanting to see. Yeah, and I'm excited I get to watch him. I like to look really smart, really stupid, and also I think, yeah, I think you're right.
Speaker 4:So I don't think there's an in between on that one.
Speaker 3:There's no, I don't. Yeah, you're right, there's probably no machine in me. They're going to look really good or really bad.

Speaker 4:Um, I have a start. Um, I know Seth and I kind of have interesting starts here. I don't. Well, I would assume. Nevermind, I want to assume things. I haven't looked the sheet yet. I just saw a name. Um, I have a sky more as a start. So we've had some weird Travis Kelsey news. So Wednesday morning Travis Kelsey hyper extends his knee. Now it's being called a bone bruise. You have Jason Kelsey on the podcast.
Speaker 1:Sorry, I just switched over right there.
Speaker 4:Jason Kelsey on his podcast saying that he thinks that if they can keep the swelling down, he should be good to go for the game. So I I don't really know, but I think of the minimum. He's not full go right. He's going to be limited. Hyper, extend your knee, have a bone bruise, being worried about an ACL tear, and then all of a sudden you're full, go 100%. Two days later. It's not happening.
Speaker 3:Yeah, I think you're, I think you're right and I think this kind of plays into your start but also mine is I think they switch up the game plan to go around who the players were going to talk about.
Speaker 4:So so like and and I know, like I've heard Kaderis Tony might be limited a little bit. Um, I haven't like I've looked for that, but I I in my mind it may be. I think it makes sense to that. I don't want to conflict on sets. Uh play here, but that's just how I look at it. Like, coming up from the injury, I know Skymore is going to be full go. I guess that's how I look at it yeah. I know he's full go. Um, he's supposed to be taking that juju Smith role. She used to roll from the slot last year. Juju had 104 targets. Like I know we talked about how I'm a home spread the ball around a ton and he did. But Juju also had over a hundred targets and like 60 catches. So that number I think it's in the sixties. Um Skymore is supposed to have that role. He's going to be the starting slot receiver. Um, and we know my home is going to throw the ball. Like we know that. Like I think the lion's rush defense maybe a little bit be better than the past defense early in the year. I know I saw one of their corners is on the out for the game, emmanuel Mosley, one of their free agent signings. So, um, I just think this is a good. I just have a really good feel about Skymore. I was I was a big Skymore truth or last year. I also love a set sky too, so I just think we see a, I think we see a Skymore game, though I feel really good about Skymore, and so I think I think he's the top 30 receiver, I think he's a flex play for sure.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I have him in. I haven't been a couple of dynasty leagues, so I'd be. I'm ready for Skymore to finally emerge.
Speaker 4:And like if you have Cooper cup, I think Skymore is a fine like replacement right there. You can fill them in in your flex. I feel good about that.
Speaker 1:What is his owner? What's his ownership here? I'm just looking at this. He's ADP when the dairy Sony got her he's at 71% roster because he might as well want to check his ADP, like went to the roof.
Speaker 3:Yeah, and most guys probably have them on their roster are probably not going to start him until unless maybe they hear Jordan saying, or they hear the cat Kelsey's not playing. Then it's like, okay, he's rostered, but now let's start him.
Speaker 4:Like there's probably some people out there who have cup, have Skymore on their Cooper cup teams.
Speaker 1:What about a Noah Gray? What are we doing with that? You don't want to touch that.
Speaker 4:Um, I'm like no, I bet has any Time touched on the moment I heard they had to go and saw the props out the board once the Travis Kelsey news went out and I wanted cause day Noah Gray is like receiving props yardage prop was like 10 and a half before Kelsey cause. I looked at it and then I want to go back and bet that but it went off the board. So I went I bet it's anytime touched on for like small money, but a film money. I'm going to call it film money.
Speaker 1:Okay, yeah, that's a good, that's a good thing to say, yeah, fill money, fill money. Okay, what? What other start you got in here, or Seth, you got a.
Speaker 3:So I know Jordan has a lot of. I've had Skymore and I uh was. I was looking at Kaderis, tony, before I even saw that Jordan had Skymore and uh, I saw, and then after Jordan said, hey, he, I saw he was limited. I looked at him and today they announced he's off the injured report. So he's listed as a hundred percent. So take that as what it is. He did just have knee surgery not that long ago, so he's probably not at a hundred percent, but I think he is going to play a higher snap percentage than we think. Uh, just because the offense isn't going to be molded around Kelsey like how it usually is. So I think they're going to be running out with, uh, with a what they call 11 personnel, where we're running three receivers and not necessarily the two, and the tight end where you're featuring Kelsey. So I think Tony's going to be playing a lot of snaps and usually when, when Tony plays more than 50% of snaps, he contributes in some kind of fantasy way that is, more than 10 points, okay, so you kind of take that away from his like bad QB play when he was on the giants. I think that is something that's going to help. But when you have the best quarterback the league and Patrick Mahomes. He's going to get to someone, he's going to get the ball to someone's hands who can make plays, and I think Tony's the guy you can make plays, skymore, a guy who can also make plays, when Kelsey maybe not playing as much. I think there's enough volume for both these guys to be successful in this game. So I'm if you have Kaderious Kony, I think this is the week you start him, and if I fail you then I'm sorry, but I I'm going to, I'm going to die on this hill this week.
Speaker 4:Here's the reality, and we should just say this before we've went in this week one, trent week one is hard. We don't know, there is no yeah. Like it's also simple, like week one's also simple, like I think this week one is a little bit weirder. Just fact that like cups hurt, kelsey's hurt, kiddos like questionable McLaurin is questionable Watson and dubs are on the injury, poor the hamstrings, like we got a lot of injuries in week one. But at the reality also is you're not like you drafted who you drafted. Like for the most part, you're starting the guys you drafted, like when it populates in your team, like that's usually who you're going with week one, unless something crazy happens. Because it's week one, like it's a whole new year, we can use last year's data, but does it really mean much? I don't know. We can make guesses like so so we're guessing here. We're taking shots in the dark week ones hard. There's no, there's no, there's no research based like like evidence for things. There's no stats based evidence for things. So it's gut, it's a lot of gut, feel a lot of like what we think is going to happen where, going forward at least, I will have like facts, like numbers behind the plays. But it just there's no numbers like I can use last year's data, but is that really any good? I don't know.
Speaker 1:Yeah, and what is the sleeper play that's in this game? It's Patrick Mahomes, or is that so? Is that so?

Yes, chris Jones makes this totally different, like, and I think I think, even though, according to Chris Jones, he says they pay me tomorrow morning, I'm sitting up for the game.
Speaker 1:You think he's just on his couch just praying that the chiefs get gashed for 300 yards tonight.
Speaker 4:I think he's a guy who just wants to get paid. Yeah, yeah. So I think we talked. I think Isaiah Pacheco is like okay, in this game, like I don't, I don't want to play. I don't want to play McKinnon, I don't want to play.
Speaker 1:McKinnon, it seems like he's only fantasy playoffs relevant every year.
Speaker 4:You're probably playing Pacheco, but it doesn't throw me.
Speaker 3:I mean, if the chiefs aren't out by a lot. Pacheco maybe is pretty good.
Speaker 1:This honestly, kelsey not playing this week, it might be like the best thing that happens to the chiefs in the long run, because one of those guys has to, you know, come out as the alpha, and that's never happened.
Speaker 3:I mean, it's very possible they split pretty hard too, though.
Speaker 1:Yeah, but this really gives someone to emerge as the number one in the chief's offense and they've never really had that. So without Kelsey, I'm curious to see what Mahomes does with this and who really gets the ball, because Kelsey, you know, he's been like the safest first round pick for years and maybe ages, catching up with them. I don't know, but it just, it just kind of happens. It's football, right.
Speaker 4:Do we want to do like a show play here at Trent on the uh, like a pod play?
Speaker 1:Yeah, let's do it, let's do it.
Speaker 4:I don't know, do you want to do underdog or sleeper?
Speaker 1:I let's do, uh, whatever you got right now, jordan Like what do you?
Speaker 4:what do you do? Underdog, because we have them a whole square, okay. Okay, I'll stop something. I use that already, but we can. We can sub that in, okay, so let's go Just as what I'm thinking, I am thinking you want to do Jared Goff over one and a half touchdowns Um.
Speaker 3:I, I made the play, totally, don't the tail. Uh, this one hurts me now cause I had Kelsey at over a half receiving touchdown um with my home's free square, and I have almond Ross same brown over six and a half receptions. If the, if the lines are going to be throwing the ball the whole game because they're down, almond Ross same brown should probably have to around 10 receptions, Like, in my opinion, he had he had like the last eight games of the season and last year I think he had at least eight targets in each game. I think most of those were double digits.
Speaker 1:He only had like two with eight.
Speaker 3:Yeah, that's what I'm saying. I think he's going to have multiple targets over 10.
Speaker 1:This is kind of what I'm looking at. Is the Mahomes? Okay, over a half yard. And then Jameer Gibbs, over seven and a half a rushing attempts. You think that's two. I think it's over seven and a half rushing attempts. That has him as a play of the week. Say it again Jameer Gibbs, over seven and a half rushing attempts. So you think he gets 10 rushing attempts. I feel like his first game possible.
Speaker 3:It's possible with. The lines are down 21,. Zero, like in the second second third quarter they are going to throw the ball every play.
Speaker 1:So do you want to go over three and a half receptions?
Speaker 3:Gibbs yeah, oh, I think I mean that line's pretty enticing actually to me, especially as my start his fantasy points are at 11.65 fantasy points.
Speaker 4:That's the line Um personally, I think I'm going to stay like I don't know. The Gibbs props worry, it's just. There's just so much to know with him.
Speaker 1:I I'm not super excited about Laporta rookie tight end. I don't know if how much they really use them.
Speaker 4:I just want to see.
Speaker 3:I mean, I know Jordan maybe doesn't like the rushing touchdowns, but he has over a half rushing plus receiving touchdown.
Speaker 1:What about a Riley Patterson, over six and a half kicking points? That's a P, a, t and two field goals.
Speaker 4:I don't love the kicking points.
Speaker 3:Okay, yeah, the six and a half seems.
Speaker 4:So I do have, let me. Let me give what I like on here. Trent Okay, I can't use the Mahomes Free square, so I like David Montgomery over 52 and a half rushing yards Okay. Josh Reynolds over 26 and a half receiving yards. Patrick Mahomes two and a half total touchdowns. You can just sub in the the free square right there. Yeah and I like sky more. Over 45 and half receiving yards. That's a 10x payout under dog little four-pick. I Think I'm gonna enter that right now, I think okay.

Like cuz teams throwing them the whole time, like if it goes up 21 zero. Like who are the Chiefs corners? Are they like really locked down corners that you're scared? Of like last time Patrick Mahomes and golf played it was like one of the best, maybe wasn't the last. Remember that money night football game. There's one of the best football games.
Speaker 3:The only thing that interested me about the Josh Reynolds pick is Marvin Jones is the clear to is he though. Yeah, we, we don't know right, but they also. Cleef Raymond also played a lot last year.
Speaker 4:Yeah, I mean Josh Reynolds is gonna be a star. I think Josh Reynolds is actually like so he was hurt with. Josh Reynolds hurt a lot last year and they, if you looking at Josh Reynolds a year before, he had a pretty good year. I'm pretty, almost positive.

Speaker 4:It's interesting. They don't have a line on Tony, though because the ink they're worried about, like what his workload is gonna be. So, so, set in 20 and 2021 with Detroit he had 19 receptions, 306 yards, 36 targets in seven games. Last year I felt like he was hurt, but last year Reynolds had 38 receptions, 407 479 yards, 11 games started, three touchdowns. I feel pretty good about Reynolds Until James and Williams goes back. I think the numbers too low.

Speaker 1:I'm hoping this is a good a get right game, first step forward for Desmond Ritter. That's what I'm hoping. I've a lot of shares in them.

Speaker 1:It's a low total, though, like that's why part of the reason I don't want to play anybody in it. There's gonna be a lot of running the ball.
Speaker 4:Yeah, I just I think miles enters. Okay, I think miles enters is all in this game.
Speaker 1:Yeah, because the Falcons defense isn't anything you know to snuff about, right like it's just. It's just whatever. So got an NFC south title. There's anything else we want to touch on in this game. I don't know if there's anything really worth digging into deep right now there's no, no, no props I really like either. I'm gonna say Falcons win this game. Anyone going Panthers? No.
Speaker 4:I'm going to go Falcons, okay, even though, like I Can see the Panthers covering a three and a half and, being honest, yeah like, but I'm gonna go. Falcons, the one the game.
Speaker 1:I'm curious. Bryce young is a guy, another guy like. I'm curious, watch both quarterbacks in this game. Alright, next game we have a start. In this game it's Texans at Ravens. The total is 43 and a half. In Baltimore is favored by 10 and a half points. I believe this is the biggest margin of the week. Jordan, what is your? You got a sit in this game, I believe.
Speaker 4:Yeah, I got Damian Pierce as a sit here, so last year Ravens were one of the best run defenses. We look at rushing yards allowed and Touch rushing touchdowns allowed and and, honestly, like I, damian Pierce getting a lot of hype this offseason, I just honestly I don't see like. I know he was really good last year, but we're talking about a team with a rookie quarterback. They're going to stack the box against them and they signed devil Singletary, like I know. It was three and a half million One year, three and a half million contract. It's not nothing like it's not. It's not a lot, but it's also not nothing. They invested a little bit of money in it to him. So I think there's a split here with Singletary, at least some type of split, even if it's 60, 40, 70, 30 like. There's something there. Speaker 3:Yeah, it hurts me because I was pretty high on DeAndre Smith at the beginning of the season. I had him ranked higher than where he was being drafted. So the whole running back situation they're keeping four running backs on their 53 men roster and I think all these guys are going to be like close to a 25% ish thing. Maybe swift and Penny play more than the other guys, but I Just the the. The snap percentage is the thing that hurts. I think DeAndre Smith can make the most of when he's playing, but also you can't guarantee he's gonna get the ball when he's playing on the field and I think that just hurts. I think if the only way this is this sit hurts me, is if he plays 30% and has a giant run or giant Like run after the catch and scores a touchdown like. I think that's the only way it hurts. Like there, I don't see any way he scores more than 10 points this week and you have like, yeah, like, I think he scores five or six.
