On today's episode we go over our week two preview starts, sits and more NFL talk. It's podcast. What is up, my dudes? This is Trent with the fantasy football dudes podcast. I am joined by Phil, Jordan and Seth. We got a little different setup here. We are recording remote. We have our week two preview. Like I said earlier, Guys, how are we doing? You know we're not in the same building, we're just close, but so close yet so far. Is that what you would say Phil?
Speaker 2:Yeah, we're incredibly close. I feel a lot closer to these guys. Jordan has since moved. Seth was not here when we were doing virtual podcast last time but you really get to know people when you see the inside of their homes. You know what I'm saying. Like I got to know Jordan is really into like cultural pieces and they're basically all over his. He basically give us like a 30 minute dream catchers. This is like a 30 minute cribs tour of his home which, to be quite honest to you, like there are some parts of it that I appreciate. In other parts I wasn't sure. Seth has like a T cabinet over his right shoulder and Trent could have picked a better spot. He is like electric cords over his left shoulder. So I think I'm the only one when Trent asked me.
Speaker 3:He's like Trent's, like should I do it with the blank wall behind me or all this stuff behind me? And I was like, oh, shoot a blank wall, he goes. I think I'm going to do this other one.
Speaker 2:I'm like okay here's the deal, so he won't do it. The.
Speaker 1:TV behind you, trent because I didn't want to move the table and there's just more room for activities here. And hey, if I get thirsty, fridge is right behind me. Right here at my bottom right, I can grab a nice cold water out of there, soda powerade, whatever you want.
Speaker 3:I don't want to see the swimmer crack though, so keep your shirt down.
Speaker 1:Here's the deal, though, like you got to admit, that's a good idea. I could just be like Phil and just get up and go to the bathroom mid pod, you know but I'm just, you know, I'm here.
Speaker 2:Don't turn this around on me, seth, the one that said that. All I said was that you picked the most awkward place to record a podcast. Seth, the one who said that plumbers crack.

You know it was our first round of waivers. Puka went a little crazy there. You guys all saw that solo pod.

Speaker 2:Yeah, okay Good. Was there enough humor about the closet or something like?
Speaker 1:you had a big closet, yeah, I have a big closet, but I have hardly any space. You know what I?
Speaker 2:mean you know hardly any space you got to make room.
Speaker 1:Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 2:I would suggest people go back and listen to it. I think it's a good listen.
Speaker 1:Yeah, and good humor. I do make fun of myself. It's pretty good.
Speaker 3:Although waivers probably already went through though, Phil.
Speaker 2:Waivers already went through. Just listen for enjoyment and friendship. You know, if you want to really get to know Trent as a person, I think you'll enjoy pods more.
Speaker 3:Listen to him talking to himself, then you'll really know, trent.
Speaker 2:Correct. You hear him talking to himself, like a lot of the thoughts are things that you see him walking through town saying likely, and so he's finally just put a mic in front of himself and put together a pod. So I would listen to it. That's all I'm saying.
Speaker 1:I have no words. Normally I do, but thank you, phil, I think that was a compliment. Phil's headline here on YouTube says still believing in the jets. But yeah, let's talk about waivers here. Puka, we did a little. I did a little Twitter contest, X contest, craziest waiver wires I said I would give a shirt to and we can just read through this. So next week, tag us and your crazy waivers guys, it uh, and we'll talk about. There was guys that spent you know all their fab and they dropped him. You know, saturday, you know, I'm saying like and I think we've all kind of been there before when it comes to waivers is you end up doing something regretful and then you got to go fix it right, and I talked about that in the pod also, the solo pod was. You know you drop it and then it ends up coming back to haunt you. So go check that out. There's some good humor. But our best waiver ad of the week I'm going to go out to Adam his name, you can follow him at some underscore guy F, f. And what Adam had to say was got, got Puka for $12. One manager spent $90 on Kyrene Williams. Kyren Williams. I think that's the craziest waiver out of the week is someone spending 90 fab on Kyren Williams. I don't know what their roster looks like, but that's just kind of what. I was like can't make her's, like broke his leg or something you know yeah, and I just don't like waiver ads, like that much money when I don't love the matchup this week. You know what I'm saying, so that was the main was it was.
Speaker 2:It was the last time we saw something like this Trent, I disagree with you.
Speaker 4:Like I don't think the matchup matters. The week you grab a waiver ad, Okay.
Speaker 1:But like you, still feel comfortable playing him this week though, Kyren.
Speaker 4:Oh, but okay. So like, if Kyren Williams ends up as an RB RB 15 this year, you're gonna be back, as you spent $90 a week Got him.
Speaker 1:Yeah, but like, yeah, you're right, you're right. I don't know how close the closest guy was. Do you think that's what Kyren should have went for? That's the highest I've seen Kyren go for this year.
Speaker 4:I just disagree with your reasoning for why you didn't like it. I don't disagree with you not liking it.
Speaker 1:Yeah, okay, and kind of a committee, I guess we don't really know. But all right, you guys want to jump into our week two preview here yeah, that's that works for me All right. Speaker 1:It was I think I think a lesson needs to be taught here, and kind of what we said, phil, is we're just going to go week by week, so we're going to give one point to whoever wins the week each week and whoever has the most wins, and I don't care, I'll come back.

Speaker 4:Phil, you sent them at 1045. Oh yikes, a quarter. The first games were a quarter over. The Niners were already up like 21 0 by that point. Yeah, and you probably text 49ers at 45.
Speaker 3:And I'm like bro, they already scored three touchdowns.
Speaker 2:I had a lot going on this weekend, so I'll take this. I'll take the L. I'll take the L on the week. I have no problem. I think I led most of last year anyhow, so I'll come back and just run, run, I'm pretty sure you went last most. Of the year. No, that's actually false.
Speaker 3:Those Trent hitting up the rear.
Speaker 1:I think so. Yeah, it was an oxymoron.
Speaker 4:You were in third Phil last year.
Speaker 1:Congrats.
Speaker 2:Well, it's there we go. Third place baby coming for you. Jordan you have those troubles.
Speaker 4:Yeah, I went six and 10. Sorry, my thing just closed on me right now. I got it right here. I went six and 10. In third place, seth Hold on it's opening. Seth got third. Trent you won. I think you were like 12 and four and Seth was like eight and eight.
Speaker 1:I had a pretty good week, so all right, so we will get into the week to preview right now, guys. Phil, do you have that pulled up? You can start giving us the lines and the totals here.
Speaker 2:Yep, Total Yep. So on Thursday night football we have a big game Vikings at Eagles. The current total right now is 48 and a half and Philadelphia is favored by seven. Seth has a sit in this game. Seth, you want to go over your sit first and we can go into it a little bit more here.
Speaker 3:Yeah. So looking at this game, I think it's the second or the third highest point total of the week. So this is going to be a high scoring game. I believe the game last year was also high scoring, but or it was just an Eagles complete domination. So Justin Jefferson last year did not have a good game and I don't think that's going to repeat itself. Justin Jefferson is going to have a good game. The Eagles are going to be throwing the ball, the Vikings are going to be throwing the ball and I think this game script completely works Madison out of it. But the thing is Madison played about 73% snaps last game and he's a three down back. He's going to be playing most of the snaps, but he was only three for 10 and receiving last week. But the problem is the Eagles gave up quite a bit of receiving yards to Ramondry, stevenson and Ezekiel. I believe I've written down they were 11 of 13 for 80 yards and I think the Eagles are going to address that running back receiving problem and I think the only way if I get burned here is if Madison maybe scores a receiving touchdown. I really don't think that's going to happen. The Eagles also didn't give up a rushing touchdown last week to a heavy rushing offense in the Patriots. So I don't think, I really don't think Madison's going to have a score this week. The only reason why he had 12 points last week and half PPR was because of a touchdown. Otherwise than that, he was 11 for 34. And so I don't really, I really think the Vikings don't run the ball this week and I think that really puts Madison out of the question of scoring, and I just think it's a good week to sit in, if you can.
Speaker 2:All right, any rebuttals? Anyone want to? Anyone want to chime in there on set sit? I feel like he had some logic there, yeah prime time game.
Speaker 1:I'm staying away from Kirk Cousins and that's the only thing that worries me. Seth Prime time game against the Eagles and it's just historically proven. I know Jordan doesn't really like that. There's nothing worse than playing Kirk Cousins or a quarterback that just completely busts on Thursday night football. It kind of ruins your whole weekend. I think I'd rather stream someone else and play Kirk Cousins.
Speaker 3:I'm hoping it's at least a decent game, like I want to see it hit the point total. I feel like a lot of times a lot of games last week didn't hit the point total and it was kind of like an underwhelming like kickoff weekend. I'm hoping, like this game lives up to the hype for sure.
Speaker 2:This is a tough schedule for the Vikings, Like there's a good chance that the Vikings go 0-2 right and they have a tough schedule ahead of them. So this is I think this is one that they definitely have to win to start getting some wins on their win in their sales. Jordy, you have any thoughts here, just in terms of any fantasy plays or anything before we move on to the next game.
Speaker 4:I just disagree with Trent on the whole Kirk Cousins thing. I just don't think it matters. But I like Justin Jefferson here a lot, obviously. I like his, I like his over on the receiving prop. And then, yeah, I think, oh, deandre Swift. I think we need to talk about Deandre Swift in this game, like what are we doing with him? Just because Kenneth Gainwell's rolled out and it's going to either be Boston's well, does Rashad Penning get work? That's my biggest question.
Speaker 3:Oh yeah, I, yeah, go ahead. Keep going, jordan. I'll interject after you.
Speaker 4:No, it's my question Like do we think Rashad Penning gets work? He was a healthy scratcher Actually.
Speaker 3:So I actually forgot to also. The Eagles running back situation is also my sit of the week, so that is. I forgot to put that in on the on the spreadsheet. I had it down at the bottom but not at the top. So yeah, I actually looked at this quite a bit and I know we talked about it earlier in our group chat. We were talking about the Hertz rushing props, whether he would run a touchdown in or not, and I think this, with a short week and Gainwell not playing in this, the whole situation with, like Penny being a healthy scratch and like we don't know what Swift is going to do and we also don't know what's Boston Scott's going to do they, I think combined, touch the ball like four or five times last week for like hardly any yard. So I just don't trust it at all and I really think maybe, maybe Jordan would disagree, maybe with the Hertz rushing, but I just think the whole, that whole dynamic in the backfield just makes you feel uneasy and I'm going to stay away from it. And I think, with how the game is going to go, if it's going to be a high scoring game, like Vegas thinks it is, I think they're going to be throwing the ball a ton and I think that just takes out the running backs almost completely. But if I had to choose a most attractive running back, I would probably say Swift, but I I'm going to stay away from it.
Speaker 4:Cool, yeah, I agree. I kind of think I wish I knew, just because I think this might be like the one the weeks to use with if you drafted them exactly.
Speaker 3:Yeah, but the Sirianne quote like we've talked about that today too like that is just so weird.
Speaker 1:What was the Sirianne quote again?
Speaker 3:He said something like oh, we're going to use them as in every down back role sometimes, and then sometimes we're going to use them like we used in week one, which is nothing.
Speaker 4:So I guess, yeah if he said this would be one of the weeks where he would use him in every down role with kind of gain.
Speaker 1:Well, you would imagine, yes, that this would be one of the weeks.
Speaker 3:Yeah, so I but I mean, is Penny going to be a healthy scratch Like who? I probably not right.
Speaker 4:They probably want three running backs, but like who knows what they're going to do. Yeah, that's what makes it hard. I also really like Hawkinson in this game. I think, addison, you can even play. I like a lot of the Vikings, just because I think they're going to have to throw from behind quite a bit.
Speaker 1:So All right. Any other thing you guys want to add in on this or anything? Any other news and notes for Thursday night football. You guys want to pick who's going to win.

Speaker 1:I think there's a time when they will have to throw the ball, jordan, but Jari Alexander is not one that like look, we need to DJ more last week and I think the Packers defense is good.

I don't have a lot of stats to back it up, necessarily. I just think they're going to feed him the ball. They got to be able to run the ball. What's your take on that, jordan? You look puzzled.

Speaker 4:I I'm not sold on like. Buffalo scared me, they scared me, I don't know, like, like I thought I was going to use them as a survivor this week and then I watched them and I just have zero confidence in them right now.
Speaker 1:Yeah, do you think, jordan, maybe that Jets defense is just really good? And that might be what I saw watching the game was. I thought maybe Josh Allen just was forcing way too many passes, trying to do too much.
Speaker 4:It looked horrible. He was making horrible decisions every single time. So I just I don't know, like, what the carryover is going to be. Does he ride the ship? Does he take a couple more weeks? I just there's a lot of unknown with Buffalo right now. That was a bad, bad loss.
Speaker 1:Oh, definitely there's Zach Wilson. It's terrible.
Speaker 2:Really, we should probably say to the Jets defense but yeah, zach Wilson was under center, uh Right, so what do you? Who do you want to take care? I think what are?

Uh, but you guys want to talk about it a little bit. And just, mark Andrews is still a question mark, right, I believe he's still a question mark.

Speaker 4:I would say I actually feel better about Cincinnati just because I think it's a better team they played and they always struggle, like in Cleveland. Like it's not, it's kind of normal. Like it wasn't great I'm not going to sit and pretend it was great, but like it wasn't. Like Josh Allen through like had like five turnovers in that game. Yeah, like in horrible decisions, bro, and I'll be I'll be honest Like I didn't watch a lot of this Cincinnati Cleveland game. You know we watched that whole Buffalo game.
Speaker 1:Yeah, and you could chalk it up probably on, you know, no preseason for burrow, right, like he did not play Yep, and so maybe that's why they played so bad was because there was no off season for burrow to really well there was. There was no preseason to really get tuned up right. Just warm it up a little bit.

Detroit is favored at home by five and a half. I think this one could actually be a pretty good one. Seahawks did not look good last week. Jordan, I think they're going to get fired up and get moving this week. Andy Troy had like a had a crazy game last week with no, with no Travis Kelsey, but I think last year when we sat this game like it was, it was a blow up game, wasn't it? Like we had a really good fantasy week with this game last year.
Speaker 4:I believe you. Oh yeah, that game went.
Speaker 1:I like both running backs for Detroit in this game. I think it's a. I think Montgomery will have a good play and I also think that Gibbs will have a really good game. Also. This might be a good game to really get him going.

Speaker 2:And to Trent's point, I'm pretty sure that they we had some pretty big running back numbers on the lion side and then that game was just big high scoring defenses were virtually not playing at all. So I'm hoping I mean fantasy wise I hope that the that it's similar, but I hope the Seahawks come out on top Seth. Any thoughts here on this game? We're talking lion Seahawks.
Speaker 3:So I think, with the lions and Seahawks, I think this is a game where DK also, like DK and Lockett, both had good game. Dk had especially good game. I think we can see game right here where all three Seahawks receivers have like 10 plus fantasy points. I mean, that's if the Seahawks play as they good, as they can not like the two yards total in the second half, like last week, you know. So I'm hoping that's what happens and we'll see. Maybe this would be the first like like real JSN stab at it to where he does really well. I think that's what I'm hoping for. I think the I'm not too sure what the lion's numbers are against slot receivers, but who knows? I think that's where JSN plays and maybe that's what worked to his advantage there. But I think there's going to be the ball throwing a lot this game, which is going to be fun.
Speaker 1:I like the David McGymree rushing line at 58 and a half rushing yards. I think he can get that After what Kyren Williams and, yeah, after what Kyren Williams did last week. We don't have any stars, or stars in this game.
Speaker 1:I actually screwed this up. I do have a start here. I have Michael Pittman as my start of the week. Okay, he did not get. I think he only had one target, the first half last week. I believe he had eight in the second half and I think he had four in the fourth quarter. He had a really good game last week and it kind of took them a whole you know, two and a half quarters from really get involved. His longest reception the day was a 39 yard screen pass. So Michael Pittman had a good game and I think I know Richardson's a little banged up right now, but I think Pittman will have another solid game this week. Also, I think Richardson's. I just keep force feeding him and he was doing underneath routes and stuff like that, so they didn't even stretch it out vertical yet. So I think this is a good defense to play Richardson against. I don't apply, you play. I think you play Richardson too, but I'm going with Michael Pittman is where my starts here.
Speaker 4:Um, what do you guys see? My Anthony Richardson over 40 and a half rushing yards. What do you have last week?
Speaker 1:You know, you have that off the top of your head. I can pull it up, I think that is 40, 40 on the dot. He's a little banged up, right, I don't know how bad he's not in the injury report.

Speaker 1:Kind of want to take that. I want to take the 40 and a half. That's where I was leaning to.
Speaker 4:All the Texan side there's been a lot of. Not that you're probably playing him in your season long, but I think it's interesting just to note that, like Tank Dell got a lot of hype this week, they put Nika Noah Brown on the IR. He's out the next four games and tank Dale is getting a lot of Coach speak going his way. So I think we might see that you play like little under 50% of snaps last week. He might get up into the 75 80% this week. Yeah, maybe really good, oh, maybe a couple of exceptions.
Speaker 1:That helps you saves you a half point, or something like that.
Speaker 4:Yeah, I guess it's more like of a, like a. You know a prop or you're playing some type of DFS format. I think he's kind of interesting in those those situations, or you're in a really deep, like deep league or something. Well, you think about Zach Moss, jordy, you're not playing him anywhere, but just like.
Speaker 2:What are your thoughts on him? Is he playing? For sure, is he?
Speaker 4:off the injury report. It looks like he's going to be the guy there. Yeah, I'm not. I think Dion Jackson's still gonna get some usage there, so I'm not exactly thrilled with it.
Speaker 2:The only reason I like a running back there, just in in theory, is that if we have Richardson hurt, he might be dumping the ball down to running backs. Potentially no, and he did that with Dion Jackson, I don't think.
Speaker 4:Richardson hurts for what it's worth. He's not on the injury report. Usually pretty good about injury reporting in the NFL. Yeah, I just he dumped. He's gonna dump the ball down, but I just think he's gonna be involved. Yeah, is that mosque gonna be involved? There's gonna be a lot of guys there, if you, if you watch Trent, like Anthony Richard didn't throw the ball at all last week Like his. His passing chart is like it's all within like five, ten yards yeah, he never. He never threw the ball Downfield and he honestly wasn't good throwing the ball downfield. I watched almost that whole second half, yeah, so yeah, like I heard, it was a lot of underneath routes.
Speaker 1:So like Pitman and stuff like that.
Speaker 4:Yeah, like the touchdown pitman had, he broke that. He ran like 25 yards after the catch. All right, what are we?

Speaker 3:I guess I think right at 51. So this game everyone's expecting to be good. I think Jordan's really excited for it, so that's gonna be fun. We're gonna give you getting a lot of text from Jordan, probably playing a lot of guys in DFS in this game, just because I point to, and just all the featured weapons. But the one interesting thing that I looked at that I thought what I did a lot of research on slot receivers this week and I Didn't know why I'm on Rossi did so well last week was because he played most of his snaps out of the slot and a lot of his Lot of his plays were in motion and that the featured guy in the slot on the Jaguars is Christian Kirk. Christian Kirk was almost. He had three targets last week in intercept for nine yards and Zay Jones was kind of featured more and I had a better day. But I think this is the game where Christian Kirk bounces back and I think we can see him how the fantasy point total closer to Kedley, maybe even better this week and I think the chiefs are gonna maybe gonna focus more and Ridley being the weapon. I think that's gonna open up Christian Kirk in the slot. I think that's gonna be a good start for him. It's gonna be fun to watch Jordan. Who are you choosing this week? Who am I picking? Yeah, look at my, look at my name now try to change it all.

I know it's a tough matchup with the 49ers, but like some guys were paying outrageous fab for him, I think you just play him Um, and and the good thing is is that he had 14 targets last week, played almost all the snaps and even if the Rams get down like they're going to throw the ball and they're going, he's going to operate in that soft, that soft coverage, like he's going to get run all the underneath stuff, maybe get some yards off for the catch, like he could easily have 10 catches for 70 yards and I think that's good enough, you know. So I like Puka. I think, uh like, even in garbage time last, last week, the Steelers did get some receiving yards. I think Alan Robinson had a good game, calvin Austin had a good game. So I like Puka this week.

I well, I'm looking at him, pff, he's wide receiver, 15 on the week, like yeah, that's good, but that's not where you drafted Garrett Wilson to be for you and it's probably where he's going to sit the rest of the year, I think, unless him and Zach Wilson can really figure things out. I'm curious to see how the Cowboys offense does in this game. If they blow this, if they can really blow them out, maybe Wilson's playable, but I don't love the matchup and I think with the pressure the Cowboys D line just put on the Giants I know jets probably have a better offensive line. I maybe I'm just too much of Cowboys truth or I think that this is going to be. I just think it's going to be a tough matchup for Garrett Wilson on both corners, cause you got digs on one side and digs looked a little better, like he looked a little more physical since last season. I know he made one play with the force fumble and I believe he hit the ball and tip that got it tipped up. But on the other side you have a Gilmore also. So I think this defense is a lot better this year and that's why I'm saying where you drafted Garrett Wilson, you have to play him. But I did a. I did a poll on Twitter today and I think 57% of the people said to play poker, play puka over Garrett Wilson, which was wild to me that it was that close. But that's just. You know all the juice from the waivers and everything going on right now, right, but yeah, garrett Wilson, if you can afford to sit him, I have him in a league. I wish I could sit him. So Jake Ferguson, I think at some point is going to have a blow up game. I I'm not telling you to play him right now, but he's definitely a guy that needs to be rostered because I think he has the potential to be a top 12 tied in this season.

Speaker 3:start. So the chargers and the dolphins last week had they had the biggest point total of the week, arguably one of the most fun games of the week. So Keenan Allen kind of led he led the chargers in receiving. I think he had like almost 80 receiving yards. This kind of goes back to why I did a lot of like research on slot receivers. I think the Patriots are going to have to pass the ball to keep up with this with this high caliber offense of the. Was it the dolphins? Yeah, so I think Juju is going to be the, the future receiver. So Juju is my star of the week. He plays slot. Kendrick Bourne kind of took the reins last week and I think he kind of exploded. I think he had 80 yards to touchdowns at a big week. I think he was a popular waiver wire pickup. But I think the ship's going to get back on course here and I think it's going to be Juju is going to be the featured weapon in this offense. Um, I think him playing the slot and him also being the motion man and and in the same way Keenan Allen is I think it's going to open up the field to him. He's going to get those uh, those open the middle of the field, shorter passes, and he's going to be the featured guy. We should see him playing more snaps this week, cause I think he played 56 last week. So I think we can expect to see him playing I don't know maybe 10 to 15 more percent of snaps and see him get the ball more.
