Speaker 1:

I just had him record, you guys have done it the last two.

Speaker 2:

You can't edit that out.

Speaker 1:

I can, but it's just annoying. Here We go.

Speaker 2:

That's really something to get upset about. All the time because you always do before ready. Yes, you could have said hey, we're gonna start in three. Here we go, we're talking about 90s.

Speaker 1:

What is up my dudes is is Trent with the fantasy football dudes podcast and we got a draft here today. I'm joined by Jordan and Phil. Seth is still in my a. I don't know if he has food poisoning or what is going on with Seth, but today's episode We are going to have a patriotic movie draft in honor of July that's coming up here, so we thought that'd be a good one to do. but before we get into that draft, let's recap the last for what it's worth.

Speaker 4:

Trent just yelled at me and Phil for being patriotic. Yeah, talking about the 90s I'm talking about the Apollo crash in 1986 is one of the most like pivotal moment of his country?

Speaker 1:

What year?

Speaker 4:

1986?

Speaker 1:

Oh so you were talking about the 90s. That's not the 90s. You said you were talking about the 90s And you said I don't.

Speaker 2:

I don't talk, i don't call me, we were talking about call people Karen's much, but like that was like a total Karen move guys were recording. I was like are you does this guy for real right now like we? it was like it was to. He didn't even give us a countdown. He was like I didn't even hear what are you saying? because we were so He almost cut his hair and had like a slide to the thing. Like I envisioned him having like one of those Comovers with the high spike in the back. When he said that, immediately I was like what is this guy saying?

Speaker 4:

The most pivotal moments in the United States history and you were like guys, we got to record the episode.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it's 1047 at night. I want to start recording. as much as I like hanging out with you guys, let's start recording It was it was a very unpatriotic way to start a patriotic movie draft.

Speaker 2:

Sorry, you need to do some self-reflection. I might even suggest I might even suggest some yoga. Maybe going out for a run not for the self-reflection part, but just a run in general probably be good for you. There's a variety of other things that like, frankly, i think would be good for you. That price and say on this podcast, but I am like I. I've seen you get angry a handful of times, like one time you just got your license and I put a blow horn in your ear and you Got extremely I'd put an air horn here, here, as we were driving over a bridge.

Speaker 1:

I put up with a lot with you, to whatever you guys are. I don't coin tenses.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, friends of a friend, yeah, friends by marriage Maybe maybe it's just got, we just got.

Speaker 1:

We're just hot off our two thousand two hundredth episode. Yeah, two thousand, you're hot about something.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and it's not just this garage, but I'll just. I'll take it from here for what it's worth. We're gonna be doing a patriotic one Patriotic, and we're gonna and we're going to go over. We're not gonna do our Taco Bell one right.

Speaker 1:

We're gonna be talking about we gotta see figure out the draft order.

Speaker 2:

Oh, based on Taco Bell. based on Taco Bell. So what do we? what do we have here?

Speaker 1:

All right, Well, team one took first with 41% of the votes. That was Seth. He had the original crunchy taco. What is this called again? the Crunchwrap, crunchwrap?

Speaker 2:

Supreme or the.

Speaker 1:

Locos Tacos. Jordan had came in last place with 8% of the votes. He had the quesadilla, the Frito burrito. What is that, jordan? The crunchy burrito, yeah, and then you had the potato taco.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, i was, very I was. Yeah, people don't appreciate the spicy potato. And then team three was Phil.

Speaker 1:

He had the gordita, the grilled stuff, burrito and cinnamon twist. I came in second with 29% of the votes. I had Baja blast Cholupa in five layer burrito, so I guess it's gonna go me filled in Jordan. That's how we will do the draft order right there.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it's real easy when it's three, because you can just go.

Speaker 1:

What?

Speaker 2:

I. What I wonder is like I I have thought that some people think that if you scroll back a throwback up, i have a feeling people think it's like this one, two, three, four, you get what I'm saying. What do you see? What do you mean? Like I think some people are reading it like this, even maybe they're not. Actually, that doesn't make any sense?

Speaker 1:

I don't think so.

Speaker 2:

And there's four yeah.

Speaker 1:

This is about what this kind of what the Apollo argument was like. It was kind of similar to no It wasn't an argument.

Speaker 2:

It was like Jordan was bringing up facts that I thought were we were having a conversation, we were having an American history conversation and.

Speaker 4:

That goes very good, that that was right in line with this draft and you just completely right in line with this draft.

Speaker 2:

In fact, I think we were preparing mentally for this draft.

Speaker 1:

So how are we?

Speaker 2:

doing this is it, it's you.

Speaker 1:

Man. There's a couple here that I really want to say, but I think first ones, first there's. I got two picks here And I think they're both slam dunks right, but I think I have to go with the Patriot is. Patriotic one there's another one that's really good though, But Patriot, you know Benjamin Martin, his son, you know he doesn't want to go to war. It kind of gives you that aspect of the Revolutionary War.

Speaker 2:

Yeah he ends up going to war his son dies.

Speaker 1:

I think he loses two sons in the movie.

Speaker 2:

He loses two sons.

Speaker 1:

Very great movie. It makes you want to start, channing. I saw it in theaters. I think theater started, you know. I think it for sure got claps or might have been some USA chance, but absolutely, absolutely great movie. I don't know anyone who doesn't like that movie, and if they do, they probably, you know, prefer tea over water. You know what I mean? like over coffee over coffee. So yeah, patriot, absolutely I think you can make the case for another one being 101. I don't know if you guys are smart if to take that one.

Speaker 2:

I don't think I am. I don't think I, i've never, i've never put my My, i don't know which one you're thinking.

Speaker 3:

I've never.

Speaker 2:

I've strategically never been man. Here's the thing, though like there are so many good ones, this is actually a good draft.

Speaker 1:

I'm a Revolutionary War buff, like that's one of my favorite things, like I Love that stuff. When he was running down the hill to kill those red coats And he had about six muskets on his back, tells his boys aim small, miss small, hide him behind trees Just really cool how he just was rotating through muskets rather than, you know, loading like the British guys. You know, and still you make the argument That's the biggest upset and you know the history of the world that we won.

Speaker 2:

I'm bad. Oh, it's a huge. I mean, there were so many pivotal moments where, if we would have lost a specific battle with, the war would have been over.

Speaker 1:

Yeah yeah, you have a revolutionary photo of a revolutionary photo in your home.

Speaker 3:

I have a couple of a good Washington. Yeah, George.

Speaker 1:

Washington Valley Forge praying. But yeah, so, uh, yeah, i think Patriot absolute It's the one one. There might be a 1a1, it could be 1a1b, depending on who it is. Phil, You are up here, what are you thinking?

Speaker 4:

I'm I'm just a slam dunk. I'm curious who you absolutely slam dunk.

Speaker 1:

And if this comes back to me, you, i might as well not.

Speaker 4:

I think there's a couple that are pretty good here, but I'm, i'm worried, man.

Speaker 2:

I'm worried because I don't know which one you're talking about. If I could be honest, you, i have no idea what you're talking about.

Speaker 1:

I could go five rounds. I could go five rounds. That's what I thought.

Speaker 2:

That's a good one too, That's what it's not what you're thinking of. I hope not. I man I have to go with I think it's it's. It was the era why this movie was so important, why this time period, why this event was so important. I'm going with miracle.

Speaker 1:

That's what I was. That's not the number two guys.

Speaker 4:

That's not number two, it's a great movie.

Speaker 1:

I love that movie, but I teed it up for you to take this and miracles great, don't get me wrong. They beat the Russians like they beat the Russians I absolutely love miracle, but not the pick.

Speaker 2:

It's not the right pick. I don't I. I need to hear. I need to know what you're gonna. I don't know what you're thinking. I can go five rounds here.

Speaker 1:

But miracles, a great movie.

Speaker 2:

I don't the promise which is a shocker cuz you're upset about. I want to.

Speaker 1:

I want to bash this pick, but I can't because it's such a good movie but it's not the number two for patriotic movies.

Speaker 2:

I have no idea what Trent's talking about here, Jordan.

Speaker 4:

I think I have it down to two, but I just don't know which one.

Speaker 1:

If it's Independence Day, like I don't- know, Great movie, great movie, but it's not that. So you're up Jordan.

Speaker 4:

I'm gonna go. Man, this is tough. I got two that I ama go saving Private Ryan. That was it saving Private Ryan.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, you missed it.

Speaker 2:

I almost said saving Private Ryan, but I didn't yeah.

Speaker 4:

It's good.

Speaker 2:

It's such a heavy movie. It's such a heavy movie, it's such a heavy movie That scene where they on.

Speaker 3:

D-Day.

Speaker 4:

Normandy. That's such a heavy movie, that's such a good one, it's a very good scene.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, Tom Hanks is great in it. You have Vin Diesel's in it Like there's a bunch of people. I'm a Matt Damon guy, so any of the Matt Damon movies I also really like, i love his sidekick, Tom Hanks' sidekick, when he goes over one of the bunkers and he rips out his chew and throws it and his comes over the top.

Speaker 1:

I like that movie And the sniper when he shoots him through the scope.

Speaker 4:

Oh yeah. I didn't watch that movie soon. I didn't even watch that one.

Speaker 1:

It's been a while since I've watched that one. It's really good though. But yeah, that was the pick right there. Jordan, i think. Phil, maybe miracle's great though.

Speaker 2:

I think miracle is really good. Miracle, yeah, I don't know For what it's worth.

Speaker 4:

I think there's another one that you could easily take number one overall too, Really.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, there's a lot of these that I really like. I'm actually having trouble deciding. But before we get into that, i'm going to recap the first round. I had Patriot, phil had Miracle and Jordan had Saving Private Ryan. And, yeah, today's episode and here's the deal is, i think a lot of people might just view this different, like maybe it's not war You know what I'm saying Like maybe it's sports movies.

Speaker 2:

Well, that's why I went with.

Speaker 1:

I think you took the best Patriotic sports movie for sure.

Speaker 2:

Phil, that's what I'm saying. That's why I went with Miracle, because it's like everyone, he's like you're playing for the team on your back, like you're not. They didn't put their names on those jersey. They put US of A, maybe, like that's.

Speaker 1:

That is, you can't get more patriotic in that I think their names are on the back of their jerseys on that movie. I think he just said that, yeah, that's the thing, that's the thing You play for the name on the front. It's the essence of what he said. You just painted the movie a little bit more, so I'm asking.

Speaker 3:

It is the essence of what he said.

Speaker 2:

It's the essence of what he said, All right well Understand context for once in your life.

Speaker 1:

It's not a modern movie.

Speaker 2:

I actually think he said you're playing for the name, for the name on the front, not on the back.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's what he said. He didn't go out and say like, hey, no one's putting their last names on the Olympic jersey, come on, that'd be ridiculous.

Speaker 2:

To your point, trent. I think I mixed up the quote, but for what it's worth, the concept and what I said is still there.

Speaker 4:

I think people are gonna view this very like people view what's patriotic movie differently than other people view.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, it's true. So the modern man is a man who takes care of himself. Manscaping is just for life special occasions. It's a requirement for optimal health, superior hygiene and healthy self-esteem. Go to manscapecom to take your men's hygiene to the next level. We are in round two here And I got a couple things I'm looking at. Let me see here. No one would know that There's a great John Wayne movie here Sands of Iwo Jima. I don't think that's gonna be a vote grabber, unfortunately, like that's an absolute great one. Anytime John Wayne dies in the movie, there's gonna be tears. Bottom line Spoiler, spoiler, man. what am I looking at here? I gotta think a little bit.

Speaker 2:

Man you're stalling here. Oh, mister, i can go five rounds, yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1:

No, i have a ton. I have a ton here, i just don't know which one I wanna do. I'm gonna go with.

Speaker 2:

Rocky IV. See what I said about the gas station. You have two of the options.

Speaker 1:

I love how Phil throws out ideas then doesn't take them and it makes it not as good. Rocky IV you know this is like a huge, like you know, against Russia stuff. Like Phil said, a miracle Rocky IV when he beats the Russian. I know it's a fictional movie, but Rocky IV when they get all those Russians to start chanting USA and you know it's talking the end, better than 20 million you got two people in here beating each other up and they yo, adrian, like Rocky's great. I love Rocky IV. I think Celestr Stallone's great. You could throw Rambo in this also, phil, you know what I'm saying. But Rocky IV, it's the best Rocky by far.

Speaker 2:

Rocky IV is great. Yeah, you can't beat it. I think his speech at the end just kinda sums up that entire movie. You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and just the way he talks and everything. You know that Russian was on steroids Like he shouldn't have beat that guy, he was juiced up man.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, the machine and he just ran after him. Have you guys seen Creed? Have you guys been keeping up with Creed? Did you guys watch those?

Speaker 4:

I haven't watched the newest Creed. I mean to watch that at some point.

Speaker 2:

Stand-in producer. Have you seen Creed? Did you like those? Here's the deal.

Speaker 1:

Like your coach goes out there and dies. Now you gotta go fight this guy. Like, think of the dramatic, you know everything that happened. Then he just the whole country starts cheering for him. But Rocky IV, one of the best, he's out there running in the snow trying to lose. You know the? what are those guys' names? The Secret Service there in Russia, kgb, kgb. They're spying on him and stuff. But, yeah, great one KGB answers to no one. Yeah, fill your up. What are you doing here?

Speaker 2:

Man, this is tough I am. I kind of want to go war movie here, but I think I probably missed the boat in terms of There's still a lot of good war movies, there's a lot of great war movies, and I'm probably gonna take an underrated one here, or a more recent one, rather than I should probably, and I might, might, probably.

Speaker 1:

GI Jane I.

Speaker 2:

Know.

Speaker 1:

I've never seen that. Please tell me you've seen that. I haven't seen that. No, there's a lot of good war movies left that you just haven't found. Hey, what do you go with, captain America?

Speaker 2:

Captain America, that's a good one. I have actually not seen that either. Have you guys seen, though, that one? Oh, i love Captain America, man, i, if this is so tough.

Speaker 1:

I am figures.

Speaker 4:

That's a great movie. I think that you see it right. I haven't seen it. I'm probably seeing that movie like 15 times.

Speaker 2:

I saw it in theaters Jordan.

Speaker 4:

That one was great because it's show I actually don't have any time to actually in the end of the movie.

Speaker 1:

I was gonna go with.

Speaker 2:

Armageddon. No, I'm gonna go with. What's that alien movie?

Speaker 4:

Are you gonna make a pick?

Speaker 3:

What is the?

Speaker 1:

alien movie with Will Smith, can you? you don't get to make a kid.

Speaker 2:

I'm gonna go with don't want to miss. I'm gonna go with lone survivor.

Speaker 4:

It's not bad, it's not I think I got a winner here, man, i'm survivors.

Speaker 1:

Not bad, that won't survivors. Good, you know. You feeling frog even jump Phil, i don't know. Lone survivor Why?

Speaker 2:

can't I see that's with Mark Wahlberg, it's the. I like lone survivor better than American sniper Yeah yeah, i think they're both really good, though I like 13 hours.

Speaker 1:

Better than both of them, though, which I people probably don't agree with, matt guys.

Speaker 4:

I think I'm getting a pick here That I think could have been taken number one overall prove us wrong. Let's go. What is it? And I think that, like this, like I think I'm, this is I'm getting back on the back on the wagon. After this, i'm getting back there the original top gun.

Speaker 1:

That's something I actually saw that one a lot of people, people love top gun.

Speaker 4:

I think that could have been. I think some people would take that number one overall.

Speaker 1:

No, if you took Maverick, i think you win the draft, but Maverick's way better than the first no the originals.

Speaker 4:

No No, yes, the original.

Speaker 2:

I think there's an argument. I like both. There's an argument, you may, that they're similar, the same in terms of man when roosters over there playing the piano in the second One.

Speaker 1:

That didn't just choke you up, phil, i also did not I also they gave a little more shout out.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, I feel like the original is more like patriotic than the new one.

Speaker 1:

Really. Yeah, you're probably right with like it has more.

Speaker 4:

It has more patriotic themes to it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, i agree with that. I just I like the second one better than the first one. I that's what that was. The last movie I saw a movie theaters was Maverick. You know, i don't feel like I go to the movies enough anymore but I think of all the movies, though, that we've done like miracle.

Speaker 2:

I don't think anyone would say it would have a bad thing to say about miracle. You get what I'm saying.

Speaker 4:

No, yeah people love top-kun, though people love top.

Speaker 2:

Thinking of the second one, jordan when people Feel people love

Speaker 3:

you just said the other.

Speaker 1:

I said I like the second one better, but I think if I put the draft board on, i put the right top and people aren't gonna be like, oh, this is Maverick.

Speaker 4:

People Feel people in our parents generation? Absolutely No. I love.

Speaker 2:

Twitter. I love man Maverick is so good. I see I I'm flip-flopping now. I guess it's good, but like it's not, the classic is the classic I. So here's what I'll say. Is the first one more patriotic? Yes. Is the second one better? not because of that, you know, not you. I like the second one better.

Speaker 4:

It's also like obviously it has 20 plus year, 30 years.

Speaker 2:

The second one, when he dusts him, when he's taking off on that thing to hit, that's a hit. The G obviously like that.

Speaker 4:

It's a better movie because 30 years later the movie was produced and then you can a lot more. You can do a technology and film and Stuff like that, but I don't think the first one has more patriotic themes to it.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, no, I agree with you there for the draft sake.

Speaker 1:

You're probably right. I think you are right, but uh. So, recapping the second round, we had Rocky for loan survivor in Top Gun and Today's episodes brought to you by underdog sports. Underdog is the easiest way to play fancy sports draft your team and forget it. No setting lineups, no trades. It's the dude's favorite place to play best ball and all other kinds of DFS fun. Interdudes They will match you up to $100. There's some fun baseball stuff right now with rivals and all kinds of other good stuff. You can do a nice little snake draft, do a quick little. You know Probably takes about five minutes to a draft here with people you don't know and then you know you it's all over by the end Of the night. But underdog is our favorite place for DFS fun. So here we are, round three. You guys only want to go three rounds. You want to go more?

Speaker 2:

I'll keep going let's go for Let's, let's see what we can do, try to do it.

Speaker 1:

I'm gonna go with Air Force one. I absolutely love that movie. Get off my plane. The president's plane gets hijacked and he has to fight all those terrorists off, ends up taking the. He takes his own plane back over a lot of his passengers pilots die. I think he has ended up landing that plane. They release that. They release that terrorists and trade for him. But yeah, air Force one is great. They lose contact with the plane. But the end when he says get off my plane is just classic. Have you seen Air Force one film? I have not. It's great. Harrison Ford, jordan. Have you seen that? I?

Speaker 4:

think I've seen like bits and pieces of it.

Speaker 1:

I love Air Force one. It's a. It's a great movie. I recommend it. Maybe it's not a true based on a true story, which could hurt it. Yeah, I also a huge Harrison Ford guy though.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, you, you're a big fan of air of Harrison Ford. Huh, oh, absolutely.

Speaker 1:

Absolutely so I, if you guys haven't seen it, i guess that's just bad, content me having Air Force one on there. But I highly recommend that movie. It's really good. What do you got here, phil?

Speaker 2:

Man, i'm trying to, i am. It's difficult because I want to go to the sports genre, but it's hard to say like how I force it Yeah.

Speaker 3:

I've already have a sports one.

Speaker 2:

I already have a sports one. I'm a little bit worried if I go, but I have a sports one and I have a war one. So now I'm like, where do I, where do I go?

Speaker 1:

major pain. That's a great, and he's in the military it's yeah, i, you could make the argument for major pain. I really think you, you can make the argument.

Speaker 2:

I'm worried that I might be falling into your bait a little bit though.

Speaker 1:

I don't take major pain. I worry people. That's such a good man in three days when he says the How about?

Speaker 2:

when he's telling the story about the, the bogeyman or what's the guy?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, the little engine that could. I read that book to my daughter the other night. The real books not as good as his.

Speaker 2:

All right, i Am going with. I think I'm gonna go. I'm a little bit outside. I'm gonna go with it's. It makes you feel I mean it's hard because it's like I don't know if it's a patriarch and it's so hard. I Man, this is a tough one. I actually I don't know if we should go for rounds. I'm starting to.

Speaker 3:

I'm starting to reconsider if we should, if we should go for rounds here.

Speaker 1:

You're going to? what did you say, Young Mr Lincoln? No, I'm not gods and generals, i am forest gum.

Speaker 2:

I'm going to go with glory, It's not a bad one. I'm going to go with glory Another war movie. Civil war, Civil war, Another war movie. But like you know, he like you like just to see them, like, become united at the end.

Speaker 3:

I feel like you know that was a good that was a good one.

Speaker 1:

That was a good movie. I agree That's a good one. I've nothing just bad to say about glory. I haven't seen it enough. I think I've seen it twice and it's been a long time. Remember, there's some good action in that movie, so I'm surprised Would you consider forest gum a war movie?

Speaker 2:

I think you could consider it a patriotic movie.

Speaker 1:

I have a couple movies here that I'm surprised Phil hasn't taken. But what do you got here, Jordan, Okay.

Speaker 4:

I think I'm going to go. I think you guys have probably seen this movie, the Hurt Locker. Oh, that's a good one, It's not bad.

Speaker 2:

I don't know if I would call that patriotic. That's more of like a timely piece, Cause they're they're, it's, it's, it's in there The direct war. That's true.

Speaker 4:

You're right. No, you could be right. I mean, it's about a guy serving our country defusing bombs. That's true, I think it's, it's yeah.

Speaker 1:

I'm surprised no one is taking Apollo 13 in this draft, cause we're talking about spaceships for, like, a Harvard for the pod. Yeah.

Speaker 4:

I don't know, i just really like Hurt Locker and it's probably. It's probably like stretching the, the genre a little bit. You know, like the that's what I that's.

Speaker 2:

That's a great way to describe it. I would say it's stretching the genre.

Speaker 4:

It's, it's like it's. You know, it's right in there, you know.

Speaker 1:

I think that's fine. I'm nothing Like. that's not one that I know enough that I'm like it's a really good movie. It's good. So recap the third round. We got Rocky for loan survivor. Sorry, What did I take there? I didn't write mine down What I draft, Phil, in this third one. yeah, third round would I take.

Speaker 2:

Jack, you were what he took. Oh you took, you took Air Force one.

Speaker 1:

Air Force one.

Speaker 2:

I didn't write it down.

Speaker 1:

Okay, i took Air Force one, phil took Glory and Jordan took Hurt Locker. Let's just go one more round here. Phil, i can go, i can go quick.

Speaker 2:

You know what? We can't take this. We can't take this because it's it's not a movie, It's a series, but band of brothers Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Band of brothers was such a good. it's such a good series, It's a really good.

Speaker 2:

I like. I like the main one better than the Pacific. Just another series was terrible. It was not, it was an annual of the series really qualifies for page.

Speaker 4:

Like you ever watched the little house on the prairie, that's a series. I understand that you, i said I have. I never got quite into it Like I know some people do, like I just feel like that's a borderline patriotic.

Speaker 1:

I had a hard time growing up watching anything like Western era if there wasn't like six shooters. That's my problem. And like that was kind of that Western era where, like I thought it should have been like more Cowboys type stuff And it just wasn't.

Speaker 2:

It just wasn't there for me And I think that's why I think not even necessarily Cowboys, but like a hunting trip, like they should do more hunting.

Speaker 1:

It was just like I felt like it was a girl show. Am I wrong?

Speaker 2:

I think the target audience is is yes, for little kids.

Speaker 4:

Well, it's also from like the 70s right, like yeah, but so is.

Speaker 1:

John Wayne.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, I mean it's for families. Yeah, it was a family show, it's it's that's what makes it tough, probably I like the time period, because there's not a lot of movies or shows that have that time period either.

Speaker 1:

You guys ever see flags of our fathers? I have not.

Speaker 2:

That was pretty good.

Speaker 1:

Let me see here National treasure That's like a weird one. That's a good movie, but here I go. I'm going to go with my last pick, fourth round. I'm going with red dawn.

Speaker 4:

I knew you're going to take that Absolutely great movie.

Speaker 1:

It's kind of like you watched that movie and you're like Hey, do you think I could do this? Like? you know what I mean. Like Oh, this is what you play in your mind.

Speaker 2:

High school.

Speaker 1:

You play it in your mind, You're like Oh yeah, I do this.

Speaker 2:

When did your dad show you that movie, or did you watch after? I don't think.

Speaker 1:

I saw it till eighth grade and I loved it. You know those guys hiding in that little fox hole where they pop up and they you know, i could argue that it's not a patriotic movie.

Speaker 4:

But why, not One is not real. It's not realistic at all.

Speaker 1:

Well, neither is. Rocky four is not real either, yeah, but how could you say red dawn is not patriotic? They're fighting on American soil for the first time since the war of 19,. I guess Gettysburg like civil war, right, but it's not like. Have you seen the original? Have you only seen the new one?

Speaker 4:

I've seen, I've. I've always seen the original. It's great. The storyline, though, just doesn't really make a lot of sense to me.

Speaker 1:

Asking attacked, or what.

Speaker 4:

Like it's it would never happen. You would never have get attacked. Like it just wouldn't ever happen because the government would never allow it to happen.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, maybe now, but you don't think so in the 80s, when Russia was like. That was made during, like, when Russia was, you know, during the Cold War. The.

Speaker 4:

Cold War but like they were never going to get in planes and drop out of planes into your yard. The Russia was always. you know there's countries that people like attack.

Speaker 1:

It was going to be nuclear war That wasn't Russia, though I think that was Cuba, right, Phil?

Speaker 2:

What is red dawn? It's Cuba, no, it's, i think it's both, i think they're, i think both are actually it's played off the like, the, the, the the new.

Speaker 4:

when the Soviets tried to put missiles in Cuba with when JFK was in president, i just remember when, like the teachers, like these guys, seem a little off course.

Speaker 3:

And then he like walks out and just gets lit up.

Speaker 2:

You know what?

Speaker 1:

I'm talking about Maybe you can't watch that one of your Wolverines, you know, like all the time, Jordan.

Speaker 2:

I don't know, just the fact that you're disputing this.

Speaker 1:

That's the most unpatriotic thing that's been said in the last week, when he tells them to pee in the, in the, in the radiator.

Speaker 2:

Yeah Pee in the radiator.

Speaker 4:

I just think the premise of the movie is just super unrealistic.

Speaker 2:

I think that's that's part of why you know what It was unrealistic for us to become a country, jordan. It's true, yeah, you know what It was unrealistic for the colonies it was unrealistic for the colonies to form their own country, and God bless America.

Speaker 4:

We're here in 2020.

Speaker 1:

Me too, me too, let's go. Come on, jordan, jordan, jordan been the type of guy that's like Hey guys, it's just a t tax.

Speaker 2:

You know what I mean? It's just a t tax. Just take away our rights.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 4:

This is it No this is, that's a bad analogy The fact that we're a country should have never happened, Jordan.

Speaker 1:

All we're saying is here we are.

Speaker 2:

I actually disagree with Trent here entirely. I just wanted to fire you up, jordan, but I uh.

Speaker 1:

Oh, so you don't think? you think that that was the biggest No you said, it's the biggest upset ever The revolutionary war.

Speaker 2:

The revolutionary war is a great subsets. Wolverines is, i know No, yeah, yeah, all the stuff I said about our country is on is spot on. I'm saying like Wolverines, i don't know. I kind of agree with you Like it's not really a patriotic movie or absolutely patriotic red dot, yeah Red.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 4:

It's like I just I don't know, maybe it is I need to watch the deal, phil, don't watch it ever again, since it's so unpatriotic.

Speaker 2:

That makes absolutely no sense.

Speaker 4:

All I'm saying is I think you are stretching the patriotic John. I, just like I stretched it with the hurt locker. That's what I'm saying.

Speaker 2:

I can say Jordan.

Speaker 1:

No, I didn't think I didn't think you stretched it, jordan, with hurt locker.

Speaker 4:

Like it's. yeah, i don't know, i don't know.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, jordan have been the guy that you know goes back and gets bugged. You know what I mean. on red dawn, that's who Jordan would be Phil.

Speaker 2:

Oh, the guy who eats the eats the tracker. Yeah, he eats the tracker, yeah.

Speaker 1:

All right, you're up, phil. What are you taking?

Speaker 2:

All right, i'm up here, i am going with Man, i, i'm, i'm. Yeah, i did have a van.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's, i brought that up. On the last part. You don't even like the pic. He said it's unrealistic.

Speaker 2:

So I am. That's such a great movie though He was going to be. He was the dad that I was, any of the dad that I was? Yeah, i am. I'm, i'm struggling here. To be quite honest to you, i like time. Like what is it called? Like historical pieces?

Speaker 4:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

But I'm, i think I'm just going to go with a comedy and, frankly, i think I'm just going to go with what you said, trent, because I had considered it. It's not a patriotic movie at all, but I'm going with major pain, i'm just so stupid.

Speaker 1:

I want to. I want to bash you for this, but I love the movie. Major pain You aren't winning the draft. Why didn't you take independence?

Speaker 3:

I lost. Independence is a great.

Speaker 2:

I lost the draft. I lost the draft when you took the patriot. The patriot is no. You lost the draft.

Speaker 1:

You had an opportunity at saving private Ryan and totally fumble. No no miracles, miracle, miracle. You might have got miracle in the second round.

Speaker 4:

No, I was going to take a miracle. I don't think so.

Speaker 2:

Are you going to take whiskey?

Speaker 1:

No, no, no, i just let's just recap this pic Major pain is your patriotic movie. Well, he's in the military. He's in the military, but this is like any board look like a sham, oh wait sorry.

Speaker 4:

He's working with a bar patriotic.

Speaker 2:

He is working with a bunch of kids that are just not, they're not, they're basically you're talking unrealistic movie. That's an underdog.

Speaker 1:

They took underdogs. Yeah, no, no, no. Kids go in there and win a race Like, yeah, that is unrealistic. There are some.

Speaker 2:

There are some weaker ones that I feel, like you know what, trent, i'm not going to, i'm not going to let you put down the movie that I chose, because that is such a good movie.

Speaker 1:

You didn't even think of that movie on your own. I brought it up as a joke and you took it in the last round Absolutely.

Speaker 2:

I did because you know what The guy is a he's a veteran. Let me just find it.

Speaker 1:

Independence Day deserve to be drafted. Phil, and you didn't take it And you probably like that movie. Is that an alien? Oh yeah, it's great. Did you miss me, boys? I'm back when the dad goes back to the alien ship after all the terrible things they did.

Speaker 2:

I think you talked about Men in Black.

Speaker 1:

No independence.

Speaker 2:

No, you're talking about Men in Black.

Speaker 1:

Independence Day is a great movie. The longest day is pretty good.

Speaker 4:

And there's a Jordan still has to go. There's a ton of John.

Speaker 1:

Wayne, world War Two movies.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, you're going to let me take my pick, or no?

Speaker 1:

No, we need to bash the.

Speaker 4:

This is whatever, i think I'm going to go. There's a couple of tough man. There's a couple of good ones here. I'm going to go Pearl Harbor. It's not bad.

Speaker 2:

It's not bad at all. That was a good one, yeah.

Speaker 4:

I feel. I feel like there's a few ones here that just like they're.

Speaker 1:

You could have a bad pick after the last pick. Oh, that's true.

Speaker 4:

But like they're also just kind of all the same, Like they're all, like they're good but they're not like Crazy. Like I was debating that Getty's Burgs pretty solid, The Abraham Lincoln movie.

Speaker 2:

They came out about 10 years ago. It was a good one.

Speaker 4:

That's all right. I need to watch Some of those. I need to watch again, Honestly, a lot of these movies like I've seen, like scenes in like history. You know we never watched like the whole movie. I think there's a Getty's Burgers scene. That's pretty good.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, ferris Bueller's Day off would have been better than Phil taking you know he should have forced up instead of major pain. Yeah, forrest Gump makes more sense.

Speaker 3:

I actually I'm not a force gun fan to be honest No, that's not good People love it though.

Speaker 1:

Black Hawk Down, phil, how do you not pick Black Hawk Down? You love that movie.

Speaker 2:

I do like Black Hawk Down. That's a good one.

Speaker 4:

Well, I can't believe. You took a major pain.

Speaker 1:

I believe you took that. I'm all in.

Speaker 4:

That's a horrible movie. It's a horrible like Phil. That might be your worst draft pick of all time.

Speaker 1:

No, what about you Had? no, no, actually, you agree, it was by John Wayne's Great.

Speaker 2:

You agree. You agree with me on the. I am Legit.

Speaker 1:

The Alamo dog movie, didn't you?

Speaker 2:

No, no, i don't agree, that's probably on the same.

Speaker 4:

I. I understood the premise of you saying it could be a dog movie, but yeah, oh man. This major pain though may take the cake. So what did you choose? I'm sorry.

Speaker 1:

But I go for a harbor, Pearl Harbor.

Speaker 2:

I thought about taking that one.

Speaker 1:

There's a lot of good Alamo movies. Yeah, I'm just.

Speaker 2:

Which one's Pearl Harbor.

Speaker 4:

That Alamo. the Alamo at the end of Dave Davey Crockett Malmous is a born. That's like a little kid movie, though, but I love, i love the song Oh Pearl Harbor.

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, that one came out in 2001. There was another one that came out.

Speaker 1:

Wonder Woman would have been a better pick than Major Pain.

Speaker 4:

Is Titanic patriotic?

Speaker 2:

No, It's a good story. I thought you were. I thought you were saying Midway, that's the one I thought you you'd my date with the president's daughter would have been better than Major Pain.

Speaker 1:

You know what one we missed.

Speaker 2:

You know what we missed Unbroken?

Speaker 1:

That's a good one.

Speaker 4:

That's a good one For the record. I actually think hidden figures should have actually been in this conversation. Yeah, you're right, you're right, But like it's actually a solid, like solid.

Speaker 1:

No, that's such a good movie, jordan, through that one out there. Then Phil didn't take it because I threw it out there.

Speaker 2:

I got to throw some comedy into mine. You know like I think Major Pain is not a patriotic movie, i'll take it.

Speaker 3:

Zero Dark.

Speaker 4:

Thirty is pretty good.

Speaker 3:

Zero Dark.

Speaker 4:

Thirty, thirteen hours is some of these are like people, like like 1776. That's a broader. I'm just not into that.

Speaker 1:

I need to watch that one. I've never.

Speaker 4:

Hamilton Same thing. I'm just not into that, like that type of movie. Yeah, sam.

Speaker 2:

Did you get into Patton? Paton is.

Speaker 1:

I like Patton. It's a little slow though. So there's some an amazing quotes that Patton had.

Speaker 2:

Patton has some of the best quotes ever Patton was like in his late forties or early fifties when he led. Did you know that?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I've seen the movie.

Speaker 4:

Well, when was this movie made? Yankee Doodle Dandy, that's an old one.

Speaker 2:

That's uncommon, trent, just for what it's worth during that time, like that, that age, to be going to lead a military.

Speaker 1:

He read Rumble's book. OK, that's why he beat him.

Speaker 4:

Hacksaw Ridge. You guys have ever seen Hacksaw Ridge I?

Speaker 1:

haven't. I've heard it's good. 12 Strong is excellent. That's a great movie You know, you had it You botched

Speaker 4:

your whole 12.

Speaker 3:

Strong was so good You wanted to go comedy.

Speaker 4:

Why didn't you just take National Treasure? Yeah, i should, i do consider National.

Speaker 1:

Treasure a comedy.

Speaker 2:

The one with Nicholas. There's some funny stuff in there. I need to be like.

Speaker 3:

Pain no on the comedy scale.

Speaker 1:

It is not better than major pain On the on the Patriot scale yeah to fit the draft a little bit of humor like.

Speaker 2:

What are some other ones we missing here? Flag of our father's letters from EO G Wah.

Speaker 4:

Great escape. I've never seen that.

Speaker 2:

I'm kind of in this trying to find.

Speaker 1:

Any good yeah, it's okay. Yeah, you know what you should have done all this searching during the draft. I I love throwing out bait for Phil.

Speaker 4:

I heard you under fire. Oh, that's a dead. So what have you seen that one?

Speaker 2:

major pain is I'm gonna get some votes just on that alone. People are gonna be like I'm in.

Speaker 4:

Monuments, men. Is that a good one? No, i've heard about they're like trying to find one.

Speaker 1:

I've heard that said it's not They're trying to find art. I've never seen it rent tails that one any good? I've heard that one's good too.

Speaker 4:

Band of you know it's a borderline patriotic movie that I think if you really want to stretch it, you could have hear me, let's hear it. Remember the Titans. I almost took that one you. You could have stretched that into being.

Speaker 2:

I actually was. Oh, I was considering taking it because it's a. It's a, it's a piece of American history.

Speaker 4:

Yeah that one and even glory road, like both those sports movies, you could stretch them, glory road You can stretch them into watch that Just because of what they're the history they're talking about and what the main? Well, yeah, i was.

Speaker 1:

Those are just yeah you also could have took telly-tubbies and that probably been better.

Speaker 2:

You still watch that, don't you?

Speaker 1:

It's been a while. Anyways, i think that kind of does it, guys. Anything else you want to say, phil? you want to say sorry for all the people You're about to offend with major pain on your draft.

Speaker 2:

They're gonna vote for me. I think they're gonna vote for me.

Speaker 1:

I was looking up war movie, war comedies because I needed to get a comedy in there at some point, you know you looked up war comedies and basically what you did is you said oh Trent already said the best one, so I'm not gonna go with the war comedy.

Speaker 2:

I thought about taking whiskey tango, foxtrot, although I can't remember that movie. Ernest goes to war. There's, there's, there's. One on there that I'll say after the pod.

Speaker 4:

Honestly, phil, you should just had banded brothers and try to make it work.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that's what you should have done.

Speaker 4:

Oh, i wanted that one but that's why I said it.

Speaker 2:

All right, let's, let's wrap this thing.

Speaker 1:

All right guys. Hey, thanks for tuning in. As always, take care.
